    Antec P182 & Corsair 520HX

    Hi Guys

I have bought the following for my Son for Christmas (he has helped with some cash):

    Gigabyte 8800GT
    Abit P35 Pro
    Antec P182
    Corsair 520HX
    Zalman 9700-N
    Intel Q6600
    Samsung HD501LJ 500Gb
    Creative T40
    Corsair 2 x 2X2048-6400C4 (4Gb)
    Samsung Sata DVD drive
    Samsung 206BW

My question is will the leads on the PSU be long enough for the P182?

    Many thanks in anticipation

    Re: Antec P182 & Corsair 520HX

i have an antec 900 which is the same size and my corsair hx520's cables seem to reach the very top. although the way it is inside I can't be 100% sure but im pretty sure its long enough.

Its pretty much the case and PSU combination of choice over at silent PC reviews forums so I'd imagine there are no problems. I have a vx450 and a P182 and it has no problems with cable length.

    Re: Antec P182 & Corsair 520HX

Yes they are perfect if you go round the back of the motherboard tray

the second cable is just long enough to do that, it can be tricky to get in but it looks nice once it is in.

What staffsMike said. I have a P182 and HX520 and the cables are just long enough to fit round the back, and easily fit across the front (not that you would want to).

Yep exactly what been said here for cable management they are just long enough. I've worked on this combo and know it's possible, if done properly.

    you can see them here.

The main motherboard power cable does route round the back of the motherboard tray quite easily I just didn't think it would at the time of the picture. It's done now though and fits nicely

    Re: Antec P182 & Corsair 520HX

Funny, I was just coming to this forum to ask a very similar question! I'll be building an almost identical system in an Antec 900 in the new year and was going to ask what power supply would fit into the case (after the built-in power supply in my old Antec Sonata II barely stretched to the power connectors on my motherboard!).

    Re: Antec P182 & Corsair 520HX

    Thanks Guys

Didn't want to start putting it all together during the Queen's speech to find out I was a couple of inches short on the cables.

Getting quite excited about helping him put it all together now!

Just got to get the monitor now (ebuyer is cheapest I think) and find a suitable keyboard, mouse combo.

    Thanks again all

Mine looked like that until I whacked a 8800 in it But still its very open, clean and airy. Managed to get the 24pin power cable round the back too.

Will an Enermax Liberty reach across an Antec 900 case?

And is it possible/worthwhile to try fitting a "floor" into the 900 to copy that of the P182?

    Re: Antec P182 & Corsair 520HX

It's not really worth making a "floor", a lot of time and effort for nothing really.

It works well in the P182 but it's engineered that way.

The 900 is actually very small in the flesh (compared to the P182 anyway) so I doubt any PSU will struggle with cable lengths.

I would stick with the corsair though, it's as silent as the antec fans, if not more so.
