    Re: Budget gaming system help

It would help if you told us what PC you have at the moment?
You have a 9600pro, and a 350 Watt power supply but what else?

It may be that your best bet is to get a decent graphics card now, and upgrade the rest later. So this 256MB 8800GT from Scan would be the way to go .

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

Could also look at the 3850 and 3870 ATI cards, but at the moment they are more expensive and slower than the 8800GT (256Mb)

But if the guts of your PC are too slow, then maybe you should get a decent quality core system now, and hold off on the graphics card until later.

For £180 I'm afraid you cannot get a decent gaming system - especially if your target is crysis

    Re: Budget gaming system help

well this could be my fault for not explaining well. my idea of a budget gaming system is probably different from yours. I should probably rephrase it as "budget system thts good enough to play the latest games". i dnt reli need a very good graphics card for a while. im probably gonna use the parts ive chosen and use the intergrated graphics until i av enough money for an 8800gt as a lot of u are sayin that its a good card.
But if any people have suggestions for a good motherboard with good intergrated graphics, or if you can suggest a cheap but powerful graphics card then i'd like to here them.

oh and my pc specs are:
    AMD Sempron 2600
    1 gb DDR 400mhz RAM
128mb ATi all in wonder 9600pro
    Asrock K7NF2-RAID motherboard
C-Media CMI8768+8CH Sound Card (not much but better than integrated)
80gb Western Digital Hard drive (not much but enough for now)
    Some crappy 350Watt power supply

So as you can tell, i probably need to upgrade my CPU, motherboard, RAM and graphics card.
