correct me if i'm wrong - but you're not o/cing the ram are you?
mmm dont see why ram would be giving you gip.
Try relaxing your ram speeds a bit before you go upping the ram - twinmoss isnt rated to the lowesst timings.

the ram is DDR400 so im not overclocking, im just trying to get to run it at normal speed.
what kind of thing should I do to relax the ram timings?
Could be the RAM. I have a Nforce2 board and my Twinmos PC3200 would not run at 200FSB (400DDR). I had it replaced with a new stick and that was exactly the same, and it was exactly the same in a friends Nforce2 board also. Is the Twinmos you have Twinmos chips or Mtec? Mine were Mtec and a few people have had problems with it. Try to get some good memory testing software (memtest86 is a good one), and run a mem test at 200FSB - if you get errors then its the RAM. In the end I got some Corsair memory and have had no errors or problems at all at 200FSB.
Good Luck m8t.

Its winbond chips, as recommended by a lot of the users of NF7-S's on this forum...
I'll try a memory test when I get home, but I would have expected them to be able to deal with a fsb of 200, as it is DDR400
Mine was DDR400 (PC3200) and it would not run at 200FSB. 180 was it's limit. As I said quite a few people have had problems with Twinmos Ram and Nforce2 boards.

Can't see why your ram would suddenly get finnickety just cos your trying it at the rated speed - used to run twinmos before the corsair and apart from looser timing was good tackle. Think it's more likely that the processor isn't as happy running the higher speed. Not all 2500's will clock to 2.2 - mine only goes to 2 (10x200) and it's comfortable at that at stock. No matter how much voltage you give it it's not that happy about going higher. Found this to be a nice speed and just trying to make it quieter now.
