    Scythe Mine Temps

Just installed a new scythe mine and was wondering what sort of temps I should be getting, I haven't tried OCing yet, but at stock speeds, the E6600 is reaching around 43 ish with the core temps hitting about 56/57.

These seem quite high to me and they are not really any better than the stock heatsink that was on before. I used AS5 and followed their method to put the paste on (i.e. a long thin line down the middle), and I'm sure the HSF is mounted correctly, it seems solid, so not sure what I might have done wrong. I used ArcticClean as well to get rid of the old paste on the CPU. I have a feeling there might be a bit too much paste on (think I might have squeezed out a bit too much, but thought it was ok). This is pretty much my first time of putting my own TIM and HSF on, and think I've done everything right.

    Any ideas?

Also what are the important temps, the core's or the CPU one - I'm using Everest to measure them.

    Re: Scythe Mine Temps

that is high, i think the mine has a fixed speed fan, but it's a pretty good cooler. it's wrong if it gets the same temps as the stock cooler. i'd email scythe and see what they say. maybe also try refitting the older heatsink to see if it temps have changed since you took it off. there might be some damage to the temp sensor somehow.
