Ive just been reading about the new x48 motherboards here and where it says: "X48-based boards will sport up to four DIMM slots, two per channel. However, only two 1600MHz, 1.8V DIMMs can be added to the board. Anyone using 1600MHz memory will only be able to connect up a 1066MHz or 1600MHz FSB processor."
The new penryn quad core cpus (Q9300, Q9450 & Q9550) are listed as having FSB 1333 so will these not be compatible with x48 when using 1600MHz RAM?
Also if i put 2 X 1gb 1600MHz DIMMs in, i cant upgrade by adding 2 more later because of this limitation?..
X48 doesnt sound as good at i thought it would be..
