    Question How to easially monitor Voltages

    I quite often leave my PC on 24/7 but a couple times recently I've found it in the morning powered off. When turning on it prompts for safe mode and event viewer says it saw unexpectedly turned off. I have a Seasonic S12II PSU and running a basic system with a E6750 and a 1950Pro.

    Is there a freeware tool that can monitor the voltages to determine if it's a PSU fault?

    I downloaded CPUZ to see if it would let me monitor the system voltages (it doesn't - only the CPU that is a variable voltage between 1.056v to 1.280v under heavy load.

    I don't do any overclocking so I've never used CPUZ before, but it says my E6750 is only running at 2000MHz at 6x 333mhz. I have a GA-P35-S3 mobo and left it on automatic settings. I don't have any heavy load programs to hand, but in rapidly hitting to open 50+ windows of word, task manager shows CPU usage go up to 100% while CPUZ shows the voltage go to 1.280v but the multiplier stays the same, isn't it meant to step up when it's under load?

    It should step up under intensive tasks. It could be worth running some other monitoring software which will keep track of the CPU speeds RivaTuner will and I'm sure the are plenty of other programmes that will as well then play a game or even better do some folding and monitor the clock speeds if its still not going up the soltion will be to turn off the power saving functions in the bios.

    ok, I changed one setting in the BIOS under MIT, CPU multiplier was on 6, so I changed it to 8, now when doing the same thing with CPUZ it gives normal behaviour (6 when idle, 8 under load). So any suggestions about my PSU and my PC turning off?

    And you say it's turning off unexpectedly??

    Could be a sensor error, which goes over a threshold causing shutdown. Or could just be speedfan being rubbish. I suggest downloading a speedfan profile for your motherboard - the temperatures are wrong too.

    Browsing around the speedfan website I don't see any profiles to download.

    Anyone else know a program to do the job? - or another way to test the PSU? Or any other ideas what might have caused the PC to have powered off? It's only happened twice, in the last month; these are also the only times it's happened since building 5 months ago. But I'm sure most people understand why I want to figure out what's caused it!
