    Re: asus mobo comparison

oh thats okay, I clicked on a link and god knows where it was. I was at the asus website and it was taking forever to get to the webpages, it was nothing in particular, the p5k-WiFi-blah-de-blah gets recommended a lot but I thought I probably won't all the features. I'll no doubt be bothering you with silly questions later, thanks

Yup that will be the ASUS web site.....

And after you have bought their product, finding and downloading updates (even tiny BIOS revisions) will also take a frustratingly long time.....
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

Asus P5KC takes both DDR2 and DDR3, is this a good reason to get it, is it a good board?

    Re: asus mobo comparison

Its no reason to buy it no. DDR3 is very expensive and you probably wont need or want it for the life of the system. Maybe DDR4 or something different will be out then.

If doesn't offer any major advantages right now. When the 1600mhz chips come out it might come into play a bit more for overclocking etc.. but even then PC6400 DDR2 is still enough to run a 1600mhz chip.

So, I wouldn't buy it because of that, if it offers you everything else you need then sure but it's nothing to base a decision on.
