new rig - 3dmark 06 results

Just got my new system (see sig for spec).... and here's my results.

I've been really impressed with this system so far!

i got like 10k with mine, why does quad core put it up so much xD when quadcore is hardly a factor for much atm.

Just increase the GPU speed to 1000 Mhz, and the ram to 3000 Mhz and your scores will increase like crazy

Well these are Xeon cores and it's got 8 of them.... wonder if that makes much difference in these kind of benchmarks?

Having read the review of the intel skulltrail the 8 xeon cores barely outperform the equivalent quadcore on most things. Software just isnt made to utilize that many cores.

Ive just done one and got about 12.5K I want to get a full version of 3dMark06 so i can change some settings.

If i felt comfortable id OC my rig and id probably be able to a decent score but I dont feel comfortable.

A 3870 doing 12K + is very high. Especially with a dual core.

yes even a top end system in benchmarking didnt get that if i remember correctly.

I would overclock mine but i prefer to keep warranty

i just ran 3dmark again, as i reformated a few weeks ago and now i got 12435, now thats more like it xD and that was 0overclocked items as some reason i started to get the bsod so declocked ram to stock .

had the outdated version and just downloaded the newer one and now i got 12558. even better and this made me laugh :

If your gfx card is overclocked then it can. I got 14k (just over) with my gfx card overclocked and cpu@ 3.6ghz
