    ASUS P5E and PC2-8000 Ram?

Will it work? Looking at the OCZ 1000mhz stuff?

Nope. It will work, unless there is some other incompatibility. I don't know why but sometimes motherboards just don't like certain ram brands

i have the asus p5e and 2 GB ocz reaper blah blah ram 1066

have had it running at 1200 mhz but not for long, probably due to my bad settings. the problem i was having was when the board goes lala an resets all the oc settings it puts the voltage down to 2.1 or something and the ram needs 2.2 to even be recodnised. i had to keep on nickin my brothers ram and setting up the bios every time it recovered from a crash. the ram fried, got it replaced and i think its a new revision now, supporting 2.1v to 2.3v or something. anyhoo, no more problems.
also got q6600 and with a better cooler happily sitting at 3.6 40c under load. for months. lol.
