    Wireless adapter and Vista x64

I bought a new computer a month ago or so and I bought an Abit AirPace PCI-Express 54Mbps Wi-Fi with it which claims it works fine with Windows Vista. Unfortunately it does not. When I install the driver the card can still be found under device manager as not installed.

Does anyone know a solution to this? (Apart from using a cable, which I currently am!!)

I thought about just buying a new adapter, but I thought I would ask you before I do that.

I had the same problem with an air pace card and didn't have time to mess around fixing it so I used one of these

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

plug and play with vista and works a treat.

Try the Abit web site for the latest drivers - otherwise RMA it as it doesn't do what it claims to.

I had this problem with the exact same hardware.
Unfortunately, the only permanent way around it is to install the wifi adapter drivers as the first thing after a fresh install.
If its installed at the same time as the chipset drivers it works incredibly well.

They do actually do what they claim to.
Unfortunately though, you need a fresh install to achieve it (not every time but most).

Alright. Which driver are you using? I might give that a shot.

Re: Wireless adapter and Vista x64

It didn't work for me. I'll just buy a new adapter cause I'm getting rather annoyed and £12 isn't too bad.

Re: Wireless adapter and Vista x64

    Its not the adapter.
Its Vista and driver signing that causes the issue.

Re: Wireless adapter and Vista x64

It is finally working! This guy Ehy Guys: very good news about Airpace Wi-Fi's drivers - Universal abit USA Forums has a solution which involves using a driver from a different adapter.
