    Zalman ZM-MFC1 ?

    hey

i have just bought the C-90 ( fantastic case, build quiality *****) im in the process or buying my fans, and wanted a fan controller, the C90 has 7 fan ports, but i dont use them all, as i have opted for the window on the C90 which then means i lose a fan. so i need a controller which controls 6

ive heard the Zalman ZM-MFC1 is a good option, its around £20 which is really my budget, does anyone own one or seem them ? or got anything which could rival the Zalman ZM-MFC1 ? also what colour black or silver ? which will go best on the C90, thanks

I use the Black MFC1 Plus (and CM690), it does look great, blue to red LEDs from 5V-12V
Blue LEDs are rather bright though.
    Aesthetically it is very pleasing.
max 7W per channel - majority of 120mm fans will be fine, if you plan on using 140mm fans then even the slowest of 140mm fans can be more than 7W.

    Re: Zalman ZM-MFC1 ?

no, Silver will not go, it'll look very very odd, much like a silver DVD drive.

quality is top notch, comes with SIX 3 pin fan connectors, 2 of which have RPM wires.

I must note its not a perfect fit in the CM690, width wise its fine, but a slight gap top or bottom, but I guess this is just for compatibility, I'd rather have it slightly smaller than slightly larger and not fit at all (its not a big issue at all, unnoticeable)

funny you should mention the 8800GT SSC, my RMA process has been completed today by Ebuyer, I recommend against any preOCed card from EVGA, they seem to have a common memory issue. Also lack of stock of SSC brand across the UK. I suspect a crippling issue with it.

I replaced with an Inno3D 8800GT Wind edition, lovely card with good 3rd party cooler and free GRAW2 game.

    Re: Zalman ZM-MFC1 ?

9 series, there is 9600GT which is slower than an 8800GT or 9800GTX which is a fair bit more expensive and not proportionately faster.

IMO cheapest 8800GT or 8800GTS is best bang for buck.

I bought the Inno3D card before Ebuyer picked up my borked EVGA, but since there is a stock issue with the SSC, Ebuyer gave me choices of either waiting for one to come available, choosing an alternative or full refund. Since I already bought a card, I chose refund. (I thought they would give me credit since the card was originally bought back in Dec 07, but hats off for a full refund )

my CPU is actually 8x400 for 3200MHz and 1.39V, I have a heat limitation with this B3. Intel P35 chipset is very easy for overclocking, but 680i is generally quite bad for OCing quads.
I would stay away from Nvidia boards unless you desperately want to run SLI.
