which GPU would you recommend for a 20.1" 1680x1050 moniter?

basically my dad decided that i was over budget and had to cut back
i decided that a 9800GX2 was a bit overkill for a 20.1" 1680x1050 moniter so would be the easyest place to save money.
what do you recommend?
i would like to be able to play crysis, COD4, stalker (shadow of chernobyl and clear skys), farcry 2 (when it comes out) etc... on high settings

HD 4850 and create your own ini file for crysis.

260 is too expensive and unecerssary.

The GTS has gotten quite expensive as I believe it's on the way out. The GT is a good buy at £95 on ebuyer and the HD4850 is the most you will need, great card

The GTX260 is awesome, but twice the price of the ATI HD4850, which will manage everything at 1680x1050
Crysis is the only special case, but you will be able to play on high, just will probably have to leave the very high options alone... And editing the ini files is highly recommended in crysis, turning off effects you don't need/notice to tailor performance to your system (and turn on the god rays, as they look cool )

Wait and see what the 4870's are like, otherwise a 4850.
