    Re: Overclocking the ATI HD4850

If anyone could run an FPS benchmark at various stages of overclock I'd be very grateful, perhaps the Far Cry 2 one?

    Re: Overclocking the ATI HD4850

Well ive got my 4850s in Xfire overclocked a little, 685/2200, this is done from the bios and also with a 0.1v increase on the core, both fans running at 40% they are perfectly happy and temps are good <50oC idle and <80oC full load, that said the cooling in my P182 is good and ive got the "wind tunnel" set up around the top HDD cage blowing right over them.

Im sure I can push them further, but there isnt any point at 1920x1200.

If you have fitted fans before then fitting the vortex is a breeze. The instructions are very comprehensive.

I find the vortexx to be quiet and efficient but you cant change the fan speed that is my only criticism of it.

My temps dropped massively (from the stock cooler and old case) from 50 idle (stock) to 21 idle with a max of 40 under load (temps from ati tray tools v.1.5.8.1264) and 12cm case fan blowing over it. @730 gpu and 1070 ram

    Water cooling it next
