What is the diference betwee 32mb and 16mb cache? The samsung 750gb is fast (not as fast) but has double the cache size
The cache only makes a difference when handling very large files and I think 32MB may just be overkill.
I've just seen the 750GB Samsung F1 for a similar price but I think it comes down to what your preference is, access time or capacity. As I'm buying a new drive to store shed loads of media the Samsung will be my choice, however if you were using the drive for your O/S, getting the WD would make more sense.
There will be negligble differences in performance between drives with 16 and 32 MB caches. Both are perfectly adequate. This article explains the situation rather well in my opinion:
Internal Cache (Buffer) Size
I want this drive myself. 2 platter will equal to faster operation i am sure.
