Building a shuttle, might need miracle?

OK, my freind had never seen a shuttle till yesterday, and he loved it. So now he wants one, but he tells me he can only spend £250 at the most, and after having a look around, it looks very difficult to build a complete system for £250.

So anyone have any suggestions? Please?

Depends on what you mean by 'full system'.
But you should be able to build:
    SK41G, XP2100, 256Mb DDR, 80Gb 7200RPM HD & CD drive for £250 all in..

Good call and a nice system.
If you are prepared to give up on Microsoft, try getting a copy of Mandrake linux discovery edition. It gives you all the programs you need and will save you a fortune.
