    PSU Temps

My main Shuttle is an sb61g2 with a P4 3.2Ghz CPU, 1Gb RAM and an ATI 9800 AIWse, 120Gb WD SATA HDD and a Pioneer DVDRW.

I'm a bit concerned at PSU temps under load - these can get as high as 75C. I think this is way too high.

I have a noiseblocker fan on the ICE running at full, I have a Zalman NB heatsink fitted and a thin 60mm fan on top of the CPU block blowing onto the block. CPU and mobo temps are OK.

Just in case I've ordered a new 250w SilentX PSU today. The PSU fitted is an Enhamce 200w.

Any thoughts on this or am I wasting my money getting the silentx?

probably not wasting your money. that temperature is a little bit high even for the PSU. My 220w doesn't go above 65c. The system you have is pretty well stacked and will be drawing a lot of power. I'd say the 250w will solve your problems. The 200w PSU has only one fan right? If that's the case then the noiseblocker will have no effect on the PSU temp (no intake).

see how the 250w goes for ya.

    good luck.
