I think the temp readings are wrong because if yours was really that high your heatsink would burn you to touch it if it is on properly. My Ballistix ram gets pretty hot and one touch of that stings for ages. Check your ram temps with a proggy and feel how warm they actually are. If they're warmer than the heatsink it could be a temp misread.

related to moogles post, its worth checking the boards support forum as you often find what bios is best for what chip to get the correct temps

    Re: Quad core temperature...

My ram is definitely hotter than the base of my TR Ultra-120 XT.

I do notice when I use a card to spread the thermal paste, I get more in the middle so I assume the IHS is concave shaped. Not like I could do much other than to put more AS5 in there.

My final testing so far is 1.3V in CPU-Z for 3.5Ghz and 1.2V (Perhaps 1.215V) for 3.4Ghz.
Guess I'll stick with 3.4Ghz. Temperarure is as high as usual but I've had Pentium D running at 83'C fine so I suppose it is not too bad.

3 Months ago the only BIOS that worked with the CPU would only run in safe-mode (2.16Ghz).
Would have bought a P45 board if this BIOS still didn't support my processor.
