No reason that board will not take your memory that I can see.
As to which board you buy it really is down to how much you want to spend on the whole you get what you pay for so the Q35 is a better board with more features than the G31, the G43 is a newer chipset so is more expensive so is probably of a similar spec it terms of components used.
Which model of Asus board were you looking at if it was the P5QL-EM then it has all solid state capacitors which is an added bonus if it was the P5QL-CM then it doesn't.
Note that the Gigabyte G33m-DS2R has solid state capacitors and costs ~£70 as well.
