    Low Profile USB back plate

Is there anywhere that sells low profile USB ports for a reasonable amount?

Normal sized back plates are easy to get a hold of, but low profile ones are a complete PITA.

Annoyingly, I can get a 2 port USB controller for a little over a fiver from Scan (http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=878454), but I don't see the point in puting two more cards in my PC when I have internal USB ports on the motherboard that aren't being used.

    Try www.cablecity.co.uk

Not sure if they have low profile as such, but they have a pretty good range of backplates.

I bought one of these to solve the same problem

Re: Low Profile USB back plate

Nope, not low profile, and the same thing with Scan is £1.75.

I can get a 2 port Belkin USB low profile contoller for a shade under a fiver from PCWorld!!!

I can't believe how hard it is to get a simple backplate with a couple of connectors and bits of wire! The only one i've found was from the US and had a custom screw lock fitting for their custom USB cables. I think they were intended for industrial applications and were priced accordingly i.e. very expensive.
