    yup , what Webby said.

    2x 1gb + 2x 2gb makes 6gb total using 4 slots.

Well switched to 4gb a wee while ago and yes as everybody is commenting there were significant improvements in load times and "unload" times.
I also tried 32bit and 64bit to see if there were subjectively any differences in the general feel.

After a month on each I cant say I did.

Re: Is 4gb RAM worth it?

I recently upgraded from 2GB of RAM to 4GB of RAM (though I am using a 32-bit O/S so my understanding is that i end up with 3.25GB or something to that effect)

Personally I play alot of MMOs (WoW especially) and tend to run alot of apps at the same time, and I have noticed a really positive difference since I upgraded. Worth it for me for sure.

Re: Is 4gb RAM worth it?

To be honest I've always run with 2GB of quality ram (rather than 4GB of cheaper ram) and have never had an issue. It's REALLY rare I get up to 2GB of RAM in use, and I'm a fairly heavy user. I@ll probably move to 8GB eventually........but it'll be windows 7 that drives it rather than XP.
