    hmm

    I have a 4 x 500GB RAID 5 that I would like to upgrade to 4 x 2TB RAID 5 (depending on cost)

The current Seagate is incredibly cheap, but it is only rated for desktop use, not in large RAID arrays. I have 5x 500GB drives to replace with 1.5TB drives, but i don't want to use the existing ones, especially as Thecus are having issues with them.

Are there any rumours as to when other models are going to be available? What about other manufacturers?

    Thanks.

Unlike everyone on the net who is saying the Seagate 1.5TB is not working or whatever, it worked suprisingly well on my other fileserver (3Ware 9550SX-8LP). Have been running for just over a month, no dropouts or lagging.

I'm also waiting for the WD 2TB drive

So CES has been and gone.

Anyone seen anything about new large drives?
