Laptop Audio Video electrical interference?

Hi,

I have some visual interference on the VGA out and some audible hiss on the analog audio out when my Acer Aspire 5315 laptop is plugged in (no interference on audio/video when running on battery), is there something I can do to fix this, maybe a power conditioner I can buy?

Notes: Using the standard power adapter/brick/battery that came with the laptop from the acer factory plugged straight into the wall.

If you do find out let me know what it was. My dell laptop (pre motherboard change) did that constantly on the power. It would be doing it without the audio jack plugged in anyway but when it was plugged in it was amplified with the speaker volume.. very annoying.

Using an unearthed power connection to the laptop solves it.. but surely there is a more elegant way?

I've sellotaped the earth pin on the plug of my laptop charger and sure enough that fixed it.. still looking for a safer way though .
