Ah but Mighty God, what is reasonable?

We've got them in some of our Dev boxes because if your paying £100 per hour, all these things have to do is save 5 hours and your in profit. They certainly seam to make working with the XAML editor in VS run smoothly, so i guess are worth it for us, already.

    Fair point TheAnimus.

By reasonable I mean prices which are at least half if not less than what they are now for what sort of size and performance you get however in your case and others in a similar situation to yours I suppose they are as justifiable now as they will be in six months time.

That's what some people said 6 months ago. I am sure someone will eventually get it right with their 'in 6 months time' prediction, but I reckon that WD still has at least one more round to play (after the current VelociRaptor) before they need to give up that market to SSD.

Probably not the best use of an SSD. The thing is to avoid lots of writes on the SSD. So program files on the SSD, page file and temp files on a magnetic drive.

I agree it's not the best use of a SSD but I'm too lazy to resetup my system up. Next time it's due for a complete rebuild/resetup is when Vista SP2 RTMs and then when Windows 7 RTMs.
