Broken 8800gtx?

think my beloved 8800gtx is broken...

getting these pics today:





are these normal for a broken gfx card?



how do i go about going for an RMA? its a POV 8800gtx purchased from ebuyer at early june 2007.

It looks like RMA time. But do you have any warranty left? IRC warranty on POV cards is only 1 year

It might be overheating, have you given it a good clean?

yeah its sparkling clean, has a clean cooler infact.
Not sure why it happened, but am tres upset

will hopefull give them a call tomorrow and see what i can get from them.

Rang ebuyer today, and they said they will issue an RMA for it. Does that mean it is in the manufactures warranty, but not in the retailers warranty?

I think it means that your POV 8800GTX has a two year (or more) warranty.

Did you install the custom cooler? If it isn't how it came out of the factory @ POV then your warranty will be null and void

and i have the card as it came out of the factory.

Yep, over the course of many years I have had 3 knackered cards that displayed exactly the above screenies. In each case it was the Vram that had become corrupted.

I've also had a Graphics Card thats displayed pictures like that and turns out it was broke, so looks like you have to RMA it.

My 8800GTX did exactly the same. Very annoying.
