I think it will be a complete and utter nightmare for the first few months, as people are set in there ways. However, I think once we all get used to it, it'll be for the better.

I would think so too, I think it's a case of spend now, and save [time/manpower] later.

Everyone knows here that they don't take ANY senstive data home, and this applies to every one. Not only just to the people at the bottom of the ladder, but to managers, senior managers, and directors.

Good luck with that, people like laptops much more than the old dusty desktop machine.

Everyone knows that everywhere, yet millions of sensitive data records have gone missing over the last 2 - 3 years. Just because people know something doesn't mean they do it

Re: What laptops does your business use?

    Mainly HP and toshiba
Some Dell latitude's which have been a total flop, Try ever one has had to have it's screen replaced and at least a quarter have developed the same fault again.
Battries have lasted just over the 3 years and now are failing.
Keep losing keys do to flimsy connectors, which dell said is user damage so not covered by warranty (some have been user, some I know are not.)
Also have had to have about 4 motherboards replaced (out of 32 total)
Yes there service was fast while still under warranty, but the build quality has been a real let down.
One thing I do like about them is a very extensive hardware checking software on a hidden partition, which make checking for hardware issues far easier.

HP build quality has been exellent while they have to get sent off the service has been very good and the turn around in a week or less.
Same for toshiba, exellent build quality although the touchpads and keyboards are not quite as nice as the HP's, fast turn around if it has to be sent off.

Worst we've had were some old Acer travelmates

However One thing I will say is just because it's from a certain "brand" doesn't mean that any model is good.
    Make is normally about support.
Model can often be the difference in quality.
