    all in one printer needed

I've been looking at the HP c7280 and various other HP, as I know someone who has one.

After doing some reading up online, they seem to use a lot of ink and they are awkward to setup.

Can anyone reccomend a printer? cheap as possible cartridges, wifi, printer, scanner.

compatible with vista and XP perfectly.

    £100 - £200 ideally...

Not sure about wifi but Brother make some great All-In-One printers with cheap inks.

Re: all in one printer needed

I've been using the HP 7200 at home, and various upgraded Laserjet models at work for ages. Yes, they're fairly ink heavy in their default settings, but drop them to "draft" settings and they're fine.

Mostly my issue with HP printers is all the software extras they come with, best just to install the barebones driver via Windows (contact their help guys, they'll tell which driver is compatible)

Re: all in one printer needed

I got a kodak the other day. Its fine for everyday use, have to remember to flick the paper catcher thing out. Forgot this this morning, and had 100 odd pages all over the floor. And it is a bit plasticy, but curries.digital was doing a 3 years we will replace it for you even if you broke it kind of thingy. Also dont turn it off, as the startup process seems to eat ink

Re: all in one printer needed

I bought a J6410 direct from HP for £100. It uses the 350XL and 351XL cartridges, so they're easily available, and cheap direct from HP, even cheaper from Amazon Marketplace (in comparison to the high street anyway). I've done a heck of a lot of printing and I'm still on the cartidges they provided originally - it's complaining that it's low/run out, but they keep going for a pretty long time irrespective.

The main reason I went for the J6410 was the automatic photocopying/scanning feed, borderless printing and wireless connectivity, the only problem was that the price fluctuated quite a bit. Looks like you can pick it up from Amazon for £85 at the moment, but if you look at the marketplace offers you'll see they're still on the old price, £160.

Re: all in one printer needed

    Lil update.

Had the Kodak long enough to do a bit of printing on it now, got it on Saturday, and I have printed ~130 Black and white text pages (don't tell my parents ), and it is reporting 45% black ink left.

Think that the family must have also done some printing, as the colour has gone down a bit as well, but that's around about 260 pages per cartiadge, and at £7 each...not bad

Still think that a laser would have been better

    Could have put this up:
