Acer Aspire Revo - Swap 8GB SSD for HDD?

I'm looking at the Acer Aspire Revo to use as a cheap HTPC, and specifically the cheapest £150 variant. The specs are all fine for my needs, except for the 8GB SSD which is too small.

Is it possible to open this unit up and swap the SSD for a 2.5" SATA HDD? I realise that there is a model with a standard hard drive but it costs significantly more, and I already have a 250GB 2.5" SATA drive that I'm not using.

I have been looking at the same thing recently and have come across this which shows it is possible if you don't mind taking it to bits!

another question is... cud i just plug in a external hd.... install my OS on that then just boot to external?????
