Seagate Drive Question

Does the problem that effected some 7200.11 drives (firmware issue) effect any 7200.12 drives?

Not that I'm aware of. It was only the .11 series, which has been cleared up with new firmware.

I haven't heard of any issues for months now.

i have several 7200.12 1TB drives in my server, and some more on order.

so far they've been fine.
though for that matter i haven't had any problems with any of my 7200.11 drives

here's hoping seagate learnt from the experience and improves QA on future firmware releases

should have said, check the price of the 7200.12 1TB drive on scan. bargin at the moment! hence my buying another 4.
