    Nforce Mobo's & ti4200 probs

Just wondered if anyone could shed some light on this prob I and a mate of mine have running Nforce boards and ti4200's

First off I bought a MSI K7N2 Delta mobo, barton 2500 and some Crucial 3200 Ram, Installed all software etc all ok.

Only problem is my Gainwood ti4200 GS won't have none of it despite trying various drivers which I uninstal completely.

Every time I run 3Dmark03 or try to play Call of duty my system just crashes back to desk top.
This ti was working a treat in my old system so I don't have any doubts that it's fubared.
After a week trying various things including tweaking bios settings still no joy so in desperation I end up fitting a Abit AN7 and that does exactly the same thing.
I've finally given up on the ti and have decided to invest in a ATI9600XT.
Still it baffles me as to why the ti and also a mate of mine has the same prob but his isn't a Gainwood ti.

Any idea's from you knowledgable lot?

It may not be the card - try turning up your Vcore a bit & see if that makes a difference.

I've ran a Ti4200 on my nForce2 mobo before with absolutely no problems at all before.

I seriouslu doubt its the Ti causing you problems. To comfirm that, as you said the Ti worked OK before on another system, maybe you need to get your hands on another GFX card to confrm on the nForce2 system.

I would opt for the ram thats causing you problems......

I had problems running an MSI 128MB Ti4200 in NF7-S V1.1 and 1.2 in that I got tearing in games. Tried all settings in the end brought a 9500 Pro and all problems went away at same settings...

Ok after doing some more homework by trawling through various forums I found a solution that seems to work :-) for me at any rate.

Driver version 45.23 seems to be stable on my system and repeated tests on 3DMark03 and playing CoD for an hour confirm it's now running smoothly.
