    Partitioning two HDD optimally

Hey guys I have a question for you all.
Basically I had to reinstall windows and I have two SATA HDD.
One is a Seagate 7200.11 750GB HDD (Model:ST3750330AS) and another is the Western Digital 750GB Caviar SE16 (Model: WD7500AAKS)
What I want now is to place windows programs etc optimally on the HDD.
Like the best HDD to have windows on and where on the drive (front, middle, end), and also where to put paging files and program files.

I have looked on the net and the forums but cant seem to find a precise answer. So please can someone help me.

    Thanks
    Amrit

    Re: Partitioning two HDD optimally

The start of a drive is always the fastest part so I would prioritise your partitions based on that. Perhaps have windows at the start of the 1st drive and the page file at the start of the second drive as these will probably give you the most benefit from being on the fastest part of the drives.

Your Program files could probably go on the second partition on the 1st drive if you want them separate from the windows partition and then any data partitons would follow that.

I'm afraid I can't tell you which drive to use for which as I don't know too much about those two models. I have read that the aaks drives are pretty fast though so might want to consider that for your 1st drive.
