    Try this - completely fanless!

    HFX(R) micro - M2
EF14 external fanless 140W (Pico Style)
    Intel E7400 (or other C2D)
    GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi

    Re: Small, quiet media PC?

ATOM would surely be best to run fanless?

I am considering an SSD with an external HDD so that the PC itself has only the HSF as a moving part. Would have to see about funds for that though

With the HFX(R) micro M2 and Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi you can do C2D or even the 65W C2Q, which are much more powerful than the Atom.

This is what i would go for. can play games as well. take out the GPU and your within your £350 budget and can easily toss in a GPU in the near future to instantly turn it into a gaming HTPC

    Re: Small, quiet media PC?

ahh soz that pic is a bit old and the offer is gone now but if you spec a similar E5300/P35 Board/4gb it will be priced near enough the same as above with a GPU of reasonable quality.

You cant go wrong with a setup that i linked. it can game, be used as a torrent box and do all the HTPC stuff (Add a tv card and you have all that fancy live pause/rewind stuff)

I'm building a miniITX system based around an AMD 4580e 45w. Where did you get the pico PSU from?

The Nexus case looks great, but its damn expensive!!

I'm probably going to order it from linitx.com.

I got the nexus brand new off ebay for £80
