no problems with a lacie d2 dvd+-rw (pioneer 106) drive connected to my sn45g.
i can confirm with the nforce3 150 the nvidia ide drivers (all of them) cause no end of problems with a nec 2500a.... i reverted back to the microsoft ones and the probs went away!
to get the ms one back go to device manager and to the controller... go to properties and then the driver tab..... select install from specific list or location then select dont search i will chosse the driver to install....... and next....... then you select the standard dual channel ide controller... and then do what is required to finish!
that should sort the problem out.
I second 5teve's solution also, should solve your problem, nforce ide drivers cause no end of problems
Got a NEC 2500 in SN45G no probs
