    You can of course overclock the RAM on an HD4890 too!!

    The important thing is to have fun whatever way you go. Crossfire does sound more fun though......although the HD4890 is a safer bet!!

    Hd4890 gets my vote, with core speeds upto 1ghz, quieter than the dual solutions, and you can add another later down the line for more performance.

    Don't think you can just double up the bus width like that, just as you cant double the 512mb. The bits still have to be transported into both card's ram, that means one bus is only used for (and connected to) one set of ram so it's only 1x 128bit.

    Go for the 4890, less of a headache .
