You could heat a four bedroom house probably with a quad core 9.5ghz P4!!
Also joe and jane public tend to be more impressed by bigger numbers so a 9.5ghz P4 would have probably outsold everything else!!
Imagine the amount of money Intel would have made on renting out mobile nuclear power plants for powering these!!
It seem the X4 965 is able to hit between 4ghz+ with relatively low volts with an air cooler and under prime according to some forums. It will interesting to see a review of this CPU when it comes out.
Well, I'll wait and see what the professional opinion is once they're released. The 955 didn't seem to be much better for overclocking than the 940, 3.7-3.8 was the norm, 3.9 pushing it. Obviously due to the clock speed differences at stock, matching the typical 3.85Ghz overclock on a Q9550, the Phenom IIs need to be up at 4.35Ghz to match that.

I assumed they were neck and neck, but 3200/2833 = 1.12594. 1.12954x3850mhz= 4348.7mhz.
I would say around a 300mhz to 350mhz advantage to the Q9000 series core2 quads. The 3ghz 940 traded blows with the 2.66ghz Q9400 and the 2.8ghz 920 with the 2.5ghz Q9300 and was cheaper than both of them.
Roughly speaking:
1.)Phenom II X4 920 ~ Q9300 and Q8300
2.)Phenom II X4 940 and 945 ~ Q9400 and Q8400
3.)Phenom II X4 955 ~ Q9550
4.)Phenom II X4 955 ~ Q9650

It seems pretty much a direct multiple to me, which is 366mhz for the 955/Q9550, 333mhz for the 940/Q9400 and 300mhz for the 920/Q9300. Stands to reason that a 3.4Ghz (if that's what the 965 is) CPU would be 400mhz. When overclocked to 4Ghz the gap would widen to 450-470mhz ish.
well sorry about not finishin it its because i gave my money to help my dad by a new car cause he was out of work (daewoo larnos good little car with a six cd changer eh eh, bad thing is about it i cannot fit in it no more )
well my birthday is coming up next month so we will see on wot my final budget is.
well at the moment the budget stands at 350-500, thats if i get my compensation.
Speccing a system up that you dont have the money for yet, wishful thinking me thinks.

Haha I must have spec'ed at least 300+ systems on forums over the years, yet have only owned half a dozen. The amount of time I spend experimenting with different parts though, it seems like more than that.
