    laptop broken, any ideas?

Well my sisters laptop doesnt want to boot into windows, it says "loading stage 2" then just dies but it does work using safemode. Ive tried installing windows 7,xp on it but it wont boot from the disk so does anyone have an idea about the problem?. Really need to fix it this week as shes moving out lol.

Yeah only one I can think of I'm afraid it's not the solution you was looking for but I would say reinstall from the installation CD that came with the laptop.

sometimes manufacturers create a backup partition as default, if the laptop came with a disk you could try that
