    Cheap Shutle

    Under £200 that will run a Q9550 and a low power 9800GT.
So far I can only see the SG31G2 and I think the SG33 one?
Both seem to indicate they will run with the Q9550 but there very old chipsets.
Any idea why the newer ones cost so much more? there only small cases / mobos / PSU's?

I run the SX38P2 Pro, you have the option of one of these or the SX48P2 Pro (This will probably be the better one to get as it's more accommodating to the longer 9000 series cards)

Check on the Sudhian forums http://www.sudhian.com/index.php?/forums/viewforum/4/ and you will find a few second hand ones going cheap.

The SG33 I think is the one where the PCIE slot is on the other side of the case so you may have problems with the cooler on it if it is a dual slot card. The SX38 and 48 moved it over to the right of the case so the cooler points towards the inside of the case instead or facing the metal casing.

    Re: Cheap Shutle

I would probably go for the SP35P2 if your budget is limited:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/154749

It has a 400w PSU and the P35 chipset. You should be able to run a Q9550 and a 9800GT fine with this.

If you have more money go for the SX48P2E which has a bigger 450w PSU and the X48 chipset:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145419

Make sure you check the RAM compatibility lists and the Sudhian forums (biggest Shuttle forum on the internet) to make sure you get compatible RAM as Shuttles tend to be very picky about RAM.

    Re: Cheap Shutle

Cheers, really want the smaller shuttle , Card wont be a issue as I have allready looked into it, the low power ones are smaller, single slot and don't require PCI-E power

    Re: Cheap Shutle

    There is the SN68SG2 too:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Shutt...k-On-Board-VGA

Rather than go for a cheap Shuttle perhaps it would be better to go with a Silverstone SG05 or SG06 and a Zotac 9300 mini ITX motherboard:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Silve...00W-80plus-PSU

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Silve...00W-80plus-PSU

TBH,the SP35P2 is not that much bigger than the G2 series IMHO.

    Re: Cheap Shutle

Looked at that, benifit the shuttle gives me over this is the addition of a PCI / PCI-E 1x slot.
The machine will be mainly my media center but also a lan box, Want to be able to put in a decent sound card as well as the graphics card.
    Thanks for the suggestion though
