    Re: CPU Cooler Question

Ummm spinning the fan fast will not only damage them, but if they are pluged into any thing they can that over big time.

start off with a simple paint brush, the intel stock coolers have a habit of building up a layer of dust on top of them, that block the air flow from the fan.

    PS is this it?
If so damb thats a messy load of cables

If that case is only 170mm wide you can forget any 120mm fan based tower coolers they will NOT fit.

    Re: CPU Cooler Question

That's tight on space, the old Thermalright Ultima-90 would be great but I think that no longer made

the akasa AK-975 x3 should fit
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Akasa...Intel-push-pin

    Or
    Thermalright MST 9775
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Therm...-CPU-(with-fan)

    Scythe Shuriken
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Scyth...M2-AM2plus-940

The Xigmatek HDT D1284 should fit
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Xigma...T-D1284-cooler

What you're going to have to do is take the current cooler off and measure the lenght from the top of the cpu to the case side to get an exect height.

    Re: CPU Cooler Question

Paint brush is best, but you can use almost anything thin and stright (Phanar Phanar)
A paper clip will work to get the worst of any dust matting out, you need to get it in between the fins of the heat sink to break up any clogs and mats of dust.
A cotten bud will not work very well as it's too wide to get between the fins of the heat sink

    Re: CPU Cooler Question

Load is the figure to look at as it will obviously be higher. This seems healthy, check out the load figures though.
    tbh = to be honest
