oops yes, what am I talking about?
One thing about these i5 and i7 motherboards is that the manufactors are really putting aesthetics work into them, makeing the layouts very good and the boards very pretty (apart from the ECS boards with the bad eps connector location)

Seeing the prices on these boards and the higher prices on the 1366 x58 boards I do wonder if we've been spoilt by low cost boards and these prices are actually very good.
Looked back at a build I did for a friend back in nov 07
Abit IP-35, iP35 Express, S 775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 533/667/800, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX £78.71
And this was back when it was around $2 to the £
So around $157 for a very good mid range board, on newegg the MSI P55-GD65 is currently $160, the Asus P7P55D is $150 and both the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4P and Foxconn Inferno Katana GTI are $170
So the cost is not too bad
However the E6750 was £116.31 and Geil Ultra DDR2 PC6400 2 x 1GB cas4 was £44
the i5 750 is $210 and G.SKILL Ripjaws 2 x 2GB cas7 is $90
So again back at the $2 to the £ rate of the time the current prices don't look too bad.
Although current exchange rate of $1.65 to the £ the current UK prices are rather higher than in the US.
eg Scan's current price on the Asus P7P55D is £117.07 = $193
