Intel Price drops - just rumours?

A while back, before the lynnfield processors were released, Hexus published an article reporting rumours of new pricing, which would effect the bloomfield i7 processors.

I see no drop in prices currently, the i7 920 is still monsterously expensive. Does that mean these price drops will not, for now, come to fruition?
Industrial espionage is simply the sincerest form of flattery......

Not sure LGA1366 was going to cut in price, last I heard much of the lower end of the LGA1366 CPUs would infact be EOL and only 1 or 2 extreme class LGA1366 i7s would be available on that socket until 6 core i7s are released.

This leaves mainstream to high end performance on LGA1156 and extreme end for LGA1366.
Then later dual core i3s on LGA1156 to cover the lower end. Core2 being phased out completely of course

ignore the posts since they are all rumour based given how old they are.
but since 1st Sept has been and gone, and Intel hasn't announced 920/040 are EOL. I suspect because the LGA1156 cpus are not selling greatly given the total cost is still quite pricey.

As long as AMD have nothing to compete with, then Intel will probably leave prices as they are.
