    mobo with onboard graphics

    Hi All,
I'm in the process of building a new NAS box. I've been canabalising parts from my old Fujitsu Siemens box. Unfortunately Fujitsu-Siemens mount their motherboards on the opposite side of the case from the rest of the world, so I need a new motherboard.

Can someone recommend me a motherboard which will support an E2160 CPU, with at least 6 SATA ports and onboard VGA and onboard gigabit ethernet. It has to support Linux too.

    Cheers...

In my experience solid linux support would come from an Intel chipset, I'd suggest perhaps a G31/33/41/43...

6 SATA's is rare on cheaper G31/41 mATX I think because they use ICH7, but the G33/43 use something later, ICH 8/9/10 or something...

Something like that would serve well I think.

AMD boards are fast becoming solid on the graphics front as well. And basically, you don't need accelerated graphics for servers. Most *nix servers don't need an X server installed at all. So either AMD or Intel chipset boards will do.

Which form factory you're after dude?

If mATX - Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R is a great board...
