If I was using 2 Channel normal SPDIF output of the soundstorm on my NF7-S would the sound be exactly the same in terms of what chip is being used, etc, as the normal 2 channel Analog output?

The sound coming out of the digital output should be exactly the same sound but it should be of a higher quality as the sound is digital as opposed too analogue. I have the Abit NF7-S ver 2. When i play some games for a while my sound starts too crackle. Have you had any problems like this and did you slove it?
No I haven't had any of the infamous crackling problems (touch wood)

Didn't realise the crackling was so famous. Didn't do it with my old board but that one had to go back because the sound packed in all together. Now this boards northbridge fan is pissing me off making awful noises and sometime not even spinning. Can't be bothered too send the board back so ordered a zalman passive cooler.
