    Excelstor hard drives?

    just wondering what you guys think of these ? i see ebuyer push them quite a bit and they are well cheap, and there offer a 3 year warranty?

    i brought one for a school pc, and it seems ok, duno if i would use one myself, but maybe

    Ive had one going for a while now (over a year) and ive never had any problems withit. Noisy and slow but cheap and reliable!

    how slow do you rate it mate? is it much off say a maxtor?

    I bought one for my sisters pc and it seems alright. You have to remember that they are rebadged and refurbished drives from other makes. Fijitsu and ibm iirc.

    noooo! don't compromise on something that's holding important files and data!
    get a samsung (3yr warranty) or something else with a 3yr warranty instead. I emailed excelstor about 6months ago - never got a reply...

    thanks guys... saying that with the current drop in ide hard drive prices there is really no need to buy one, as you can get a seagate or WD for a few quid more.

    So samsung offer the three years? i will check them out..
