System no longer posting/displaying although it's powering on & fans spin etc

    Hi all,

    I have the following System:

    Lian Li v2010
    Asus P5Q Pro
    Q6600
    (2 x 1gb Cheapy Ram)
    620w Corsair PSU
    1TB Samsung F3 HDD
    Scythe Mugen 2 Heatsink
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64

I have been using it for around 3 days with no problems and all of a sudden I have arrived back home gone to turn on my PC and the fans spin full speed, the HDD spins and the lights etc all come on with no error beeps but I get no display or post (usually all the fans slow down after around 5-6 seconds after turning on)

And I am completely confused!!! - It shut down the normal way with Windows earlier today, I have been searching a few threads and some state it could be a Windows 7 hibernation error where the hardware can't get out of hibernation.

I know all the part's are compatible as iv'e been using it for 3 days with no problems at all, the cpu temp was usually around 24c and 34c on load.

I have tried shutting down and draining the power then turning on again but otherwise don't have a clue, do you think something could have gone faulty while not in use???? - I'm hoping not as it would most probably be the motherboard which i brought of eBay hence no warranty! - but why would it stop all of a sudden while not in use?

Any help/guidance you can give will be a great help!!

    Thanks

I had this issue from new and it was the motherboard, but clearly your issue could be different.
Mine was new mobo, new memory, new CPU - fans started spinning, but no beeps and no video.
Sent mobo back which was diagnosed as faulty - no video from on-board VGA. Mine never worked at all, so yours seems like a complete mystery. all I can suggest is to check that video cards properly seated, connection to monitor ( at both PC and monitor end) is secure.

Re: System no longer posting/displaying although it's powering on & fans spin etc

Thanks for your help although this morning I turnt the pc on and it it worked!!!

It just came up with a error saying we detected an error where you couldn't turn on your PC, would you like to try fix this issue.

I clicked continue and it then loaded up a Windows 7 menu to fix or restore clicked fix and it then said solved and it's booted up twice so far with no probs..

One of the strangest error messages/probs I have ever seen.

Glad you got it sorted. Weird as you would expect a hardware issue with those symptoms.

Re: System no longer posting/displaying although it's powering on & fans spin etc

Well the problem is back once again, this time it's taken several days to get it to power back up.
Although this time it gave me a similar error but told me the fault which was:

    \Device:Harddisk0
    D:/Windows

Do you think it's a faulty HDD?, I brought my Samsung F3 from Scan about a week ago and it's been alot louder then I thought it would be everyone said it was quiet.. which mine isnt especially while playing games etc. (could possibly be a fan nearby will check later)
