    Hard drives

Right with the assumption my drive is dieing im looking at getting a new drive for my rig, im thinking about running in raid with the new drive and the potential replacement WD 640gb AAKS(it hasnt fully died so replacement isnt an option yet!).

Im hoping to get one similar in size to the current drive but really trying to keep cost down, what drives are recommended these days?. Iirc the Samsung F3's and the WD Blacks are the best is this still true or are there better alternatives?.

I think so far the 500gb Samsung F3 is top of my list.

    Re: Hard drives

F3 500GB is good since its single platter, the 1TB version is just two 500GB platters.

    Re: Hard drives

F3 is a great bit of kit, little bit more expensive than some of the others, but nice and speedy
