It so isn't like the G15. It does have low keys if this is a concern, but it's a stunning keyboard. It does have quite a 'harsh' feel to it, but in a feedback way, not in a mush of randomness like most of the gaming keyboards do, the G15 included.

Why people only spend £30 on mice and keyboards, yet hundreds on the rest of the PC, I cannot understand. Them and your monitor are the most important parts of the PC by miles and miles. You don't handle or look at your RAM for several hours a day, so why spend 3 times as much on it? It's the same with why some (it doesn't sound like you) concern themselves with the aesthetics of their peripherals... erm...

I change keyboards regularly... (thats what happens when you eat over your keyboard sadly)

Currently I have sitting in this room

    Logitech G15
    Razer Tarrantula
    Logitech Wave

I have also tried the Saitek Eclipse II and Sidewinder X4.

Out of those 5 I would suprisingly recommend the Logitech Wave. I find it by far the most comfortable to type on, and fine for gaming its perfectly fine. Also very reasonably priced (I have wired version).

    Ive got two razer lycosas,

I would definately recommend them, nice blue backlight, tactile feel. Got the multimedia functions on them you wanted, work well with most media programs you want to chuck at it - media player, media centre, TMT3, winamp. comfrotable to type on and good in games.

Also personally ive got much love for razer and their RMA service. My original lycosa I bought in america, found that it was an early batch with known issue with the media keys (for me not a deal breaker). Despite the fact I bought it in america they processed the RMA here in the UK and cos it took a little while they sent me a new keyboard and let me keep the old one to boot, which was still fine for everything i use it for.

    Excellent things.

    +1.
Having a pleasant and good quality feel, touch and interaction with your computer puts a smile on your face, as well as potentially reduce harm to health.

That said, it's not a given that more expensive = better.

Any chance you could photo from the side with the legs down, I would love to see the height on the keys.

I have my eye on this now, looks like a good option.

    Re: A good keyboard needed

Probably going to go for a G15 for my system update. Currently using a cheaper-but-very-comfortable Logitech model - but I really could do with the nice display option (Specially as I've a Matrix Orbital I'm selling off at the moment - that needs replacing )

    Re: A good keyboard needed

If your not after anything fancy look for the Cherry keyboard seller on the bay of evil.
I bought a couple of small form factor keyboards in the 90's one has been in constant use in a garage and you can't see through the gunge on it, still feel great though. The other is in doors and is still much like new. I needed a keyboard for a project last year and the Cherry place were flogging of a load of the same keyboards £2 each!
The writing doesn't wear off them either.
