Unhappy Shuttle XPC Barebone SK22G PSU fault?

Hi my Shuttle XPC Barebone SK22G2 is no longer powering up and i can not find any replacement Shuttle PC40 SilentX - power supply - 250 Watt any where apart from some used ones on ebay.

So i tried an ATX PSU that is 250w and as soon as i plug in the MOBO power connection the 3D card fan Spins at full speed and HDD light stays on all the time????

Does any one know why this is? Has the MOBO gone to Sh*t as well?

Shame as not main PC but was going to setup as a media PC for living room.

    Thanks for your time.

AFAIK,the Shuttle PC50 should be able to replace the PC40 PSU.

However, any similar sized PSU should be able to replace the PC40:

You plugged a live PSU into the motherboard?? If you did you could have damaged the motherboard.

Also, you will need to plug in both the 20 pin and 4 pin ATX power connectors for PC to fully function.

Thanks for the PSU link, i take any one of them will work with it?

No i plugged the power cable into the PSU once i had already connected the PSU up to the MOBO and did not press the power button, it just started spinning the 3D card fan up?
