Right well I have a PII 550 BE processor with a gigabyte 770UD3 motherboard and 4gb of 1066 ddr2 ram, I have 2 kingston SSD 40gb in raid 0, and my psu is a 400w ocz stealth xtreme.
I did unlock and overclock the 550 to a quad core 3.8 ghz but after extensive usage it was not stable enough. Most of the time it was fine but would occasionally crash when doing intensive tasks
I mainly use the computer for simple tasks such as report writing and browsing etc some occasional 3d chemical modeling but nothing too intense most of the time. I back up videos and encode them sometimes also. I mostly just like having a computer which I don't have to wait around for it to do something.
I grew used to the speed of the quad core and now I have it back as a dual core its not the same. I don't really need a hex core but I'm working an extra shift this weekend (13 hours!) and so will be getting a fair bit of extra cash. Any problems with my system if I upgrade the processor?
Which is the best one to get? 1055t 1075t 1090BE? I don't want to upgrade my motherboard and memory etc at this time so cant really buy the 95w one - anyone know when the oem restrictions will be lifted?
Cheers for the help
