    2 x Seagate 1.5TB in RAID1 problems

But not real RAID1. I'm using Windows 7 mirroring, software RAID I guess.

Is there any reason why the drives are taking hours to syncronize? and sometimes it just locks windows up? At the minute there's only 180GB on the drives.

Both drives are running firmware SD1B and are brand new. Both pass the extended test in Seatools.

Shall I just purchase a RAID card or will I experience similar issues? I'm aware the method I'm using will use more CPU power, but I've got a Q6600 and 4GB RAM..

    Any advice appreciated.
