Spec help for new PC inc Sound Recording

CiT S001 Micro ATX Desktop / Tower Combo with 450W PSU £32:40 (very cheap should be suitable)
MSI GT430 OC 730MHz NVIDIA Graphics Card - 1GB £49:72
Second hand x-fi card for approx £20-40
Hard drive and dvd burner??

Approx £400 depending upon what can be re-used.

Avoid CiT PSUs!! One of my mates had one and it went kaput and took out a hard drive.

Yeah I know they suck, I was just trying to keep the cost downand as the machine wont be taxed to hard or overclocked I was hoping it would cope.

A phenon x4 based rig could shave £100 of the cost of the spec I put up as the chip is cheaper and the onboard graphics should be enough to cope with the screen forgoeing a nvidia card until you needed it.

This thing will get zero maintenance. I imagine it'll go under the bench just like the last one and be left to slowly cook itself and vacuum dust out of the air. A stable PSU will be worth the extra £10-20. Thanks for the warning on CiT.

Sadly I don't think the wait option will materialise - if it doesn't get in the original mix I don't think it will happen, so it's all-in or bust.

Any idea if the d-verb files I linked to are the correct test ones ik9000 ??

No idea, not done it myself yet - Cat suggested it and I thought it sounded like a good idea, just haven't had chance to do anything about it yet.
