I wouldn't have though waiting for Bulldozer is worthwhile for a budget build. You will likely have to sacrifice too much in graphics to afford CPU/motherboard combo at which point it isn't going to play any modern games. As a novice builder you should be aware that bleeding edge technology never works properly so you can easily find yourself waiting around for a bios update or firmware flash and in the meantime be the proud owner of something that doesn't work. Example Gygabyte sandybridge motherboard + OCZ vertex 3 = drive not recognised or unable to install windows. Many happy hours changing between IDE, AHCI & RAID etc and uninstalling re-installing drivers etc. As a novice builder or a cautious experienced builder buy the more mature older kit or wait until 2nd generation Bulldozer motherboards released at which point prices will also be lower.
